Built St. Louis: Vanished Buildings
Midtown buildings

The National Memorial Church of God in Christ, across the street from the Cardinal Ritter site, burned to ruins in early 2001. The remains still stand in 2006

The walls have been stabilized, and the interior cleared out and infilled with gravel, as part of a proposal to convert the church to an urban ruins garden. Further construction has not yet materialized, however.

Ecology of Absence has more information and a pre-fire photo of the church.
