Vanished Buildings

St. Louis has a spectacular and unique architectural heritage, the likes of which can only be found in a city with a rich historic and economic past. It is shocking, then, how much of it has been been torn down.

From office towers, to homes, schools, sporting arenas, shopping centers and entire neighborhoods, from pre-Victorian to Mid-Century Modern, countless buildings of architectural merit and urban value have been destroyed in and around the city, and more continue to fall today. This tour covers the most egregious losses from 1995 to the present.
