St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church

This Midcentury church complex, including the church, a rectory, convent, and school, houses an old congregation. It replaced an older building on the same site that had stood for over 100 years. The congregation of St. Nicholas Catholic is largely black, a changeover that occurred following the construction of several publich housing projects nearby in the 1940s and 1950s.
