Rudman on the Park
Originally: Peters Shoe Company Building
Architect: Isaac S. Taylor, 1901
This building was for years one of the most battered to be found in downtown. A great deal of its glass was broken out, and it was badly in need of cleaning. An aborted renovation scheme in the early 1990s left it vacant for nearly a decade. After a protracted delay, it was renovated into loft space in 2002.
The cornice crests are all-too-rare survivors.
