There are some relatively small areas of blight on the area's southwest portion. This vacated store at the corner of Cates and Clarendon is surrounded by a lot of empty land. October 2002.

The house shown in the bottom photograph was destroyed by fire, but seemingly had been sitting gutted for several months when I passed by in August 2000. Its remains have since been razed.
