Row houses not all that common in St. Louis; when they appear it is often for short runs of a few houses, such as these at 4700 Page. December 1998.

I photographed them again in October 2002. Their neighbors to the east and west have been demolished; the two abandoned houses remain so. The occupied house at left, on the other hand, has gotten different curtains and sprouted an entry porch.

Returning again in March 2007, I found only the occupied house surviving -- the last fragment of a story.
