Page Boulevard, west of Taylor, has generally taken a beating. But some impressive buildings still survive -- and new construction has risen alongside the old in places, as well.

Top: January 2002: Severely damaged by fire, this house sat in the same ruinous condition for well over a year. It was finally demolished in fall 2003.

Center: A handsome old church building on the 4500 block of Page.

Bottom: Across the street, new houses have been built, with a density similar to that of the old houses they've replaced.
