Linton Avenue and DeSoto Avenue begin to show deterioration .

This is the school of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The church itself was located next door at 20th and Linten, but was destroyed in a 1987 fire, leaving behind the rectory building and the school.

Rather than simply dead-ending at the bluffs, Desoto and Linton actually join together in an alley-like U-loop that makes them into one street. Desoto makes a peculiar little jog as it approaches the turn.
