1521 Washington Avenue
Originally: Guzzardo Building
Architect: Albert B. Groves, 1916
An old slipcover was removed here, presumably with the intention of restoring the building to its original appearance, but not the funding to do it. Further damage was incurred in an effort to make the building's entrance look "Gothic" or some such.
After a stint as home to the Europe nightclub, the ground floor is vacant again.
The extraordinarily plain building next door at 1523 Washington Avenue dates to 1937.
