721 Olive Street
Built: 1896, with 1902 addition
Architect: Henry Ives Cobb (original), Mauran, Russel & Garden (addition)
A grandly ornate and undulatory building, a cousin of the Chicago Style.
Typical of many urban buildings, the back side of the Chemical Building is totally unadorned. A 1940s-era addition on the back contains a stairwell.
