The blocks of Julian near Blackstone have a number of handsome brick buildings.

Top: An apartment with enormous, oversized brackets.

Center: a corner building with a colorful history; it was a Jewish synagogue before World War II, then a movie theater, the Plaza. More recently it has been re-converted into a church.
