Many streets in the western part of the city have been blocked off to create traffic-limiting dead ends. It is difficult to judge the end results of this process; while it reduces through traffic -- certainly a boon to residents who desire a quiet neighborhood -- it also removes much of the life from the streets.

One such street is the 5400-5500 blocks of Bartmer, just south of Page. The two houses shown here are typical of the finely detailed homes that line this portion of the street.
