Built St. Louis > > On the Road in New Orleans

The French Quarter
Photographs from December 27-29, 2006

Bourbon Street! There is no better place to party between the coasts. We were a little shocked at how sparse the crowds were on our first night, a Tuesday. As the week went on the crowds grew thicker, and we reasoned that the night after Christmas isn't a big party night.

Maison Bourbon - dedicated to the preservation of JAZZ. For the price of a couple of expensive drinks, George Finola and His Chosen Few entertained us for an hour or two with the incomprablely joyful sounds of New Orleans-style jazz.

Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo window display. It seems more for the tourists' benefit than any actual use.

Diner in the French Quarter.
