Chapel - St. John's Mercy Medical Center
Deeply buried in the ever-expanding campus of this suburban hospital is this higly stylized chapel. Odd angles define the space, and are found in details throughout -- in the stained glass wall, in the mosaics and organ screen, in the skylight and ceiling soffits. The chapel is part of a complex of several towers, clad in an unusual variant of the International Style overlain with a hint of religious symbolism. |
