Wagner House
Two other notable homes remained nearby in the early 2000s. The first is the Wagner house, an Italianate town house, reportedly the oldest in the area.

The house was privately owned and vacant as of 2003. Deterioration had set in, visibly so at the cornice line.

In 2008, the house was purchased by Saint Louis University, who set about demolishing it with astonishing speed.
