Built St. Louis: City Churches
Little Flower Catholic Church

1264 Arch Terrace
Richmond Heights (inner west County)
Architect: Harry Hellmuth
1949

Little Flower Catholic Church is housed in an unusual octagonal building, a transitional design straddling the traditional and the Modern.

The limestone structure is arranged around a circular sanctuary, ringed with Gothic arches and topped with a shallow reinforced concrete dome above. Stained glass and ornament are relatively minimal, though still more aligned with traditional styles. The exposed stone of the interior lends the space a serene air.
